Now that the dust has settled on all of the "best of" debates, I would like to make my contribution to the mess of "best of" lists. My criteria for making this list is simple. Most music sounds like refridgerator buzz to me. If a song can somehow cut through the buzz, welcome to my list.
2006 Songs
Hot Chip "Colours" - Bleeps, pings and pongs. Computer love never sounded so nice. This is good finger painting music.

The Roots "Game Theory" - At some point hip-hop will catch up to the Roots.

Amy Winehouse "Back To Black" - Lauryn Hill are you listening?

Artic Monkeys "Perhaps Vampires is a bit Strong" - This song hits punk brilliance at the 3:32 mark.

The Changes "When I Wake" - May very well be my best kept secret. I'm not good at keeping secrets.

Thom Yorke "Black Swan" - For all you ugly ducklings. Your anthem has arrived.

Regina Spektor "On The Radio" - I like listening to this while drinking my favorite cola and eating chips.

Red Hot Chili Peppers "Charlie" - John Frusciante is a golden god.

Justin Timberlake "Love Stoned" - Leave some cool for the rest of us...

Emily Haines "Crowd Surf Off a Cliff" - My song of the year.

Ahhh ... my Guru has returned! Love the picks, Adam. "LoveStoned" this is the one that sets Justin apart from all the other boys ... backstreet et al. (groupemilagro.blogspot.com)
